Maternal near miss in four governmental hospitals in the West Bank, occupied Palestinian territory, in 2010: a retrospective, facility-based survey

In the past few years maternal near miss (MNM) has gained attention as an important indicator of the quality of obstetric care. Data for MNM in the West Bank, occupied Palestinian territory (oPt), have not been reported. Our aim was therefore to identify the frequency of MNM in four Ministry of Health maternity hospitals in the West Bank and review compliance with national protocols in case management.
