Dr. Umayah khammash

Director
Dr. Khammash is a doctor and senior public health specialist with over than 30 years of experience in all aspects of primary healthcare, from practicing medicine in West Bank hospitals to running different local and international health programs. Previously the Chief of Field Health Programs for the UNRWA in the West Bank. Oversaw the delivery of health services to Palestinian refugees through 42 primary health clinics and one hospital in the West Bank. Through his many professional afflictions he developed strong working relationships with senior MoH officials, NGOs and private healthcare providers.

Dr. Salwa Najjab

Senior Technical Advisor
An expert in women’s health, founder multiple women’s health programs in Palestine, most notably introducing the advanced life support in obstetrics methodology to the country and the development of community health and specialized training programs for Doctors, nurses and midwives. She has written and adapted clinical training materials, publications and protocols. She co-foundered of a number of influential grass-roots Palestinian organizations. Member of the MENA Health Policy Forum, the Palestinian Health Policy Forum and the World Bank Civil Society Consultative Group for Health, Nutrition and Population.

Rihab Sandouka

Community Development, Unit Director
Has a Master Degree in Community and Public Health, as well as Diploma in Nutrition and Diploma in Management with more than 15 years of experience in numerous management level positions in leading organizations. She is working as Director of Community Development Department (CDD) at Juzoor for Health and Social Development , supervising many innovative community empowerment and public health programs (i.e nutrition program, family protection program, youth empowerment program, women economic empowerment program, reproductive health program, combating gender based violence program, health promotion program and environmental health program).

Lama Hasan

Finance and Admin Director
Finance and administration specialist with 15 years of experience with Palestinian NGOs and businesses. Experience includes managing multi-million dollar budgets, including financial management of USAID projects. Significant experience in managing procurement and compliance policies and procedures to adhere to USAID and international donors’ rules and regulations. Proven ability to enhance operations, enhance efficiency and utilize resources in a volatile environment. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with extensive experience in managing projects, processes and human resources. Overall responsibility and management of Juzoor’s operations: finance & administration, procurement, logistics, and compliance to ensure that all activities are delivered with high quality and in a timely manner. Ensures grant and procurement activities comply with the rules and regulations of the donors such as USAID and EU. Supervisory responsibility for accounting and finance staff, consultants, and manages external audits. Develops and manages budget and internal control measures for all departments and projects. Reviews operating costs and proposes cost-saving measures. Provides financial analysis and reports for internal planning.

Dina Nasser

Senior Technical Advisor
Dina is a widely respected expert on hospital infection control, with more than 25 years’ experience developing and implementing policies, programs, trainings and monitoring systems for hospitals and operating theatres in fragile and conflict environments and Site coordinator for the AHA center in west bank hosted by Juzoor. Dina has worked closely with international organizations such UNRWA, UNFPA, the American Heart Association, and the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and the Royal College of Pediatrics in the United Kingdom. Her work in the Palestinian health system led to the development of infection control programs for operating rooms in three main tertiary hospitals in Palestine as well as national protocols and guidelines for infection prevention that have been endorsed by the Ministry of Health.

Jennifer Dabis

Policy and Advocacy Manager
Jennifer received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the American University of Cairo in Egypt. After graduating in 2006, Jennifer returned to her Palestine and began working as a quality control officer at a pharmaceutical company in Ramallah. After one year, Jennifer decided to pursue a degree in Pharmacy, and after studying for two years at Amman Ahliyyeh University in Jordan, She successfully graduated in 2009. With the growing health concerns in Palestine, Jennifer returned once again to Palestine, and while working at Juzoor for Health and Social Development she pursued a Master’s Degree in Public Health at Birzeit University in 2010. Jennifer is currently the Health promotion Program Manager at Juzoor for Health and Social Development, where she is responsible for the research held within her program, in addition to the assessment, development, work plans, logical frameworks, monitor, and evaluate, projects under the health promotion program. The projects she has managed include school health nutrition, prevention of non-communicable diseases, sexual and reproductive health and health policy development.

Faten Tannous

Continuous Professional Development Unit, Project Coordinator
Faten Tannous is an experienced program coordinator with many years of experience that has assisted Juzoor in its accreditation journey for many of the internationally accredited courses that the organization provides. She currently is the coordinator for the American Heart Association and a certified Heartsaver instructor, Tannous is additionally the coordinator for Advanced life Support in Obstetrics, Basic Surgical Skills and Helping Babies Breathe and all emergency courses. Her logistical and management experience completes the continuous professional development unit.

George Aburdeneh

Community Development Unit, Project Coordinator
George Aburdeneh is a Palestinian from Bethlehem. He holds a bachelor degree in Law and Political Science with a minor in Public Administration from Birzeit University. Certified trainer in Positive Discipline for everyday Parenting; certified instructor in Heart Saver CPR by the American Heart Association. He is currently working as project coordinator at Juzoor for Health and Social Development focusing on Youth, communication skills, leadership, advocacy and initiative. He is an active member of the procurement committee at Juzoor and works with the community in the targeted areas within Juzoor's projects under the direction of the Community Development Department.

Rania Abu-Aita

Community Development Unit, Project Coordinator
Rania Johnny Abu-Aita, Palestinian from Bethlehem. Holding a bachelor degree in Medical Technology from Jordan University and a master degree in Public Health from Birzeit University, Palestine. Currently working in the Community Development Department as Project Coordinator at Juzoor, managing the Diabetes Prevention Program among pre-diabetic refugee camps women and coordinating the Humanitarian interventions in most vulnerable communities in H2 zone-Hebron. She has a good experience in gender-based violence, assisted in Women Empowerment Project in marginalized area of East Jerusalem. She is a Trainor in Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights and a certified facilitator in Positive Discipline in Everyday Life from Manitoba University- Canada. She is a community health activist, mostly working with women and youth.

Amer Khader

Community Development Unit, Project Coordinator
Amer Khader, Palestinian from Jerusalem. Holding a bachelor degree in Human Nutrition and Community Health from the Ohio State University, USA and a master degree in Public Health Nutrition from Queen Margaret University, Scotland UK. Certified dietitian at the Palestinian MoH. Trained as a diabetic retinopathy screener. Worked in the hospital clinical setting as dietitian focusing on diabetes and cancer, community nutrition and awareness raising. Published along with my colleagues an abstract about diabetic retinopathy for diabetic patients and done literature review for an abstract published in the Lancet Palestinian Health Alliance Conference in 2012. Holds a certification in the effective communication skills for health care professionals and Basic Life Support. Currently working as Nutrition Program Coordinator at Juzoor. Currently works as Nutrition Program Coordinator at Juzoor managing the Palestine National Diabetes Project with the Ministry of Health and UNRWA, and the School Canteen Project. Member of the procurement committee at Juzoor.

Sireen

Community Development Unit, Project Coordinator
Sireen received her Bachelor Degree in Phycology minoring in Sociology from Birzeit University. Holding a Master’s degree in Community and Public Health. Worked as a social worker at Caritas organization in Jerusalem, and as a research assistant at the World Health Organization. Started working at Juzoor for Health and Social Development since 2016 and is currently the Project Coordinator under the Community Development Department, managing the project of “Empowering Women in Marginalized East Jerusalem Communities”. Certified as a trainer in “Positive Discipline for Everyday Parenting” and holding a certificate in “Basic Life Support “from the American Heart Association.

Ahmad Khaled

Administration and Finance Manager,
Finance and administration specialist with 11 years of experience with Palestinian NGOs and businesses. Experience includes managing multi-project budgets, including financial management of USAID projects. Significant experience in managing procurement and compliance policies and procedures to adhere to USAID and international donors’ rules and regulations. Proven ability to enhance operations, enhance efficiency and utilize resources in a volatile environment responsible of: procurement, logistics, ensures grant and procurement activities comply with the rules and regulations of the donors such as USAID and EU. Responsible for logistic staff. Assist Finance and Admin Director Develops and manages budget and internal control measures for all departments and projects.

Khadra Dweib

Community Development Unit, Field Coordinator
She is expert in women`s issues and right, works as a field coordinator for local NGO called Juzoor for Health and Social Development Implementing women empowerment program through school canteen project where she gives women tools of how to run a healthy school canteen. And also she works in the field of protecting women subjected to GBV and she is an expert in Child Protection field as she serves as coordinator for the Sexual and Reproductive health Rights project at Juzoor which is a regional project in Lebanon, Yemen, and Palestine. Where her duties are: giving training in (Child to Child approach, Raise awareness for community, Mother to Mother Approach, sexual abuse and sexual education, Positive Discipline in everyday parenting). She has 2 diplomas one in Community Health Nursing and the other in Accounting. She has done much training and received many certificates in areas of Sexual and Reproductive Health and women and child right.

Marina Zayed

Community Development Unit, Project Coordinator
Marina is a dedicated registered nurse, with considerable experience in the field of community and public health, and developed and acquired insightful knowledge and skills in the field of health projects management, internal and external communication procedures of NGOs managerial techniques, while organizing activities, monitoring and evaluating projects. With an experience of more than 8 years working in the field of GBV and family protection program, in term of capacity building for the services providers as well community members on GBV and the sexual and reproductive health rights, women’s rights and national referral system, as well community mobilization, coordination and multi sectorial networking to promote gender equity in the Palestinian community in which it enabled me to execute the tasks and projects under my responsibility in a professional and efficient manner.

Majd Hardan

International and Public Relations Manager
Majd has more than 15 years of experience with Palestinian NGOs and government sector in fund raising and public relations. Experience includes, planning for international and national conferences and meetings, responsible for communication and Media. Responsible for outreach and networking with local, regional and international organizations. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with extensive experience in managing projects, processes and human resources. Overall responsibility of external relations for Juzoor; fund raising, public and donors relations, communication, Ensures grants and projects activities comply with the rules and regulations of the donors such as USAID and EU.

Elise Aghazarian

Juzoor representative in Europe
Elise Aghazarian grew up in the Old City of Jerusalem. After pursuing her B.A. in Birzeit University and M.A. in Social Sciences at the University of Amsterdan, she worked in research and development organizations, focusing on culture, politics, language, and gender themes. She taught Sociology in the University of Bethlehem and Arabic in the University of Amsterdam language institute. From 2013-2017 she worked as content editor for the Arabic Reproductive and Sexual Health program in Radio Netherlands Worldwide and its online counselling section. She is an avid translator of books, articles and educational material from English to Arabic. She works part-time as project assistant for the department of Philosophy & Religious Studies at the University of Nijmegen. Elise has served as SRHR content consultant for Juzoor for Health and Development. She also seeks to spread the inspiring work of Juzoor & its partnerships as representative of its European chapter.
